Promotional Discount on Subscription Fee of e-Cert (Server) to new applicants for replacement of their existing SSL certificates issued by other Certification Authorities

Starting from 24 April 2017, promotional discount on the subscription fee of e-Cert (Server) certificates will be offered by Certizen Limited, the contractor of Hongkong Post Certification Authority (HKPCA) e-Cert services. The promotional offer is only applicable to new applicants of e-Cert (Server) who are existing subscribers of SSL certificates from other Certification Authorities to migrate to deploy e-Cert (Server) of HKPCA.

The promotional discount on subscription fee of e-Cert (Server) is summarized as follows:

Promotional Period	24 April 2017 until 31 March 2018
Eligible applicants	Any applicants who have installed SSL certificate of other Certification Authorities
Promotional Offer	Provision of 1-year, 2-years or 3-years replacement e-Cert (Server), with up to 4-month Free Subscription Fee for the validity period of original SSL certificate ^{(Note 1)(Note 2)}.
How-to Apply	The applicant contact HKPCA's hotline 2921 6633 or through email enquiry@hongkongpost.gov.hk for checking of eligibility of offer and payment arrangement, and to receive a notification letter. Authorized Representative submits the e-Cert (Server) application form and the notification letter to any Post Office.

(Note 1: Subscription fee of the e-Cert (Server) certificate will be waived for the validity period of the original SSL certificate up to maximum 4 months. The Free Subscription Fee is calculated by multiplying the number of remaining months of validity of the original SSL certificate as compared to the issuance date of replacement e-Cert (Server), but capped at a maximum of 4 month free validity period, on a monthly basis pro-rata to the annual subscription fee of that particular e-Cert(Server) type [normal, with multi-domain feature, or wildcard feature].)

(Note 2: The type of the e-Cert (Server) certificate will be consistent with the SSL certificate that the applicant subscribes from other Certification Authorities. For example, for applicants who have existing certificates with one domain name or above, e-Cert (Server) or e-Cert (Server) with "Multi-domain" feature will be issued, while for the ones who have existing wildcard SSL certificates, e-Cert (Server) with "Wildcard" feature will be issued.)

The Free Subscription Fee is calculated by multiplying the number of remaining months of validity of the SSL certificate as compared to the issuance date of replacement e-Cert (Server), but capped at a maximum of 4 month free validity period, on a monthly basis pro-rata to the annual subscription fee of that particular e-Cert(Server) type [normal, with multi-domain feature, or wildcard feature]. An invoice will be sent to the subscriber directly. If no payment is received, we reserve the rights, and will suspend the replacement e-Cert (Server).

Examples:

For e-Cert (Server) certificate with 1 domain name and if the validity of the SSL Certificate of other Certification Authority is on 25 August 2017 and the replacement 1-year e-Cert (Server) certificate has a validity period from 15 May 2017 to 15 May 2018, the number of remaining months of validity of the SSL certificate of other Certification Authority would be 4 months (i.e. May 2017 to August 2017). The Free Subscription Fee would be pro-rated on a monthly basis, at HK$187.5 per month, for a total of HK$750. Therefore, the total charge of replacement e-Cert (Server) will be HK$1,500(i.e. HK$2,250 - HK$750).

The support arrangement is applicable to organizations that is (1) Bureaux and Departments of the Government of Hong Kong SAR, or holding a valid business registration certificate issued by the Government of the Hong Kong SAR, or statutory bodies of Hong Kong whose existence is recognized by the laws of Hong Kong SAR ( "Subscriber Organisation" ); and (2) owner of a domain name (hold by "Subscriber Organisation"); and (3) holder of any SSL certificate issued by other Certification Authorities (hold by "Subscriber Organisation").
