Change Password Program for e-Cert File

Hongkong Post e-Cert subscribers may download the Change Password Program at no additional cost and proceed to use the software subject to the following terms and conditions:-

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

The software is valid for use with a Hongkong Post e-Cert.

The right-to-use is granted by the Postmaster General of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (referred to herein as Hongkong Post) to the Subscribers of Hongkong Post e-Cert.

The right-to-use does not grant any development right of the software nor does it involve any transfer of title in the software, which remains the property of Hongkong Post.

The copyright and intellectual property right of the software remains in Hongkong Post.

This product includes software developed by the OpenSSL Project for use in the OpenSSL Toolkit (http://www.openssl.org/)

This product includes cryptographic software written by Eric Young (eay@cryptsoft.com)

END USER LICENSE AGREEMENT

PLEASE READ THIS SOFTWARE LICENSE AGREEMENT CAREFULLY BEFORE DOWNLOADING AND INSTALLING THE SOFTWARE. BY DOWNLOADING AND INSTALLING THE SOFTWARE, YOU AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THE TERMS AND CONDITION OF THIS LICENSE. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE, DO NOT DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL THE SOFTWARE.

  1. PROPRIETARY RIGHTS. The SOFTWARE and any accompanying documentation are proprietary products of Hongkong Post and are protected under copyright laws. Ownership of the SOFTWARE, and all copies, modifications, and merged portions thereof shall at all times remain with Hongkong Post.
  2. GRANT OF LICENSE. This License allows you to install and use the SOFTWARE on a single computer at a time. This License does not allow the SOFTWARE to exist on more than one computer at a time. You may make one copy of the SOFTWARE in machine-readable form for backup purposes only. The backup copy must include all copyright information contained on the original.
  3. RESTRICTIONS. This License is proof of the right to exercise the rights granted herein and must be retained by Licensee. Licensee may not rent, lease or otherwise transfer the Software or its Documentation. Licensee shall not decompile, reverse engineer, disassemble or otherwise reduce the SOFTWARE to a human perceivable form, or to modify, network, rent, lease, loan, distribute, or create derivative works based upon the SOFTWARE or the documentation in whole or in part.
  4. LIMITED WARRANTIES AND DISCLAIMER. Hongkong Post warrants that the Software will operate as stated in the user documentation. This limited warranty does not cover anything caused by accident or abuse or by use of the SOFTWARE other than for its reasonably intended purposes and as recommended in the accompanying user documentation. Also, Hongkong Post does not warrant that the operation of the Software will be uninterrupted or error free.
  5. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY. In the event that the warranty referred to in paragraph 4 is broken, if the Subscriber notifies Hongkong Post of the breach within 3 months of the date that downloading took place, Hongkong Post shall provide such Subscriber with further opportunities to download software which is compliant with the warranty on the same terms and conditions as this licence or, if the effect of the breach of warranty is to make the e-Cert in relation to which the software was downloaded unusable, then Hongkong Post will, free of charge issue a new e-Cert or, at the Subscriber's option, refund the price of the e-Cert. If the Subscriber fails to make any complaint in that 3 month period, no claim of any kind can be made in respect of the breach of warranty.

HONGKONG POST SHALL NOT IN ANY EVENT BE LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES WHATSOEVER ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SOFTWARE, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO DIRECT, INDIRECT, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, AND DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF BUSINESS PROFITS, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, LOSS OF BUSINESS INFORMATION, OR OTHER PECUNIARY LOSS, EVEN IF HONGKONG POST HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES, WHETHER SUCH LIABILITY IS BASED ON CONTRACT, TORT, WARRANTY, OR ANY OTHER LEGAL OR EQUITABLE GROUNDS.
